Fire-resistant calcium silicate board is a new type of green building material with comprehensive performance. It is mainly made from siliceous and calcareous materials, reinforced with fibers, and manufactured through high-temperature and high-pressure steam curing processes. This board not only offers excellent fire resistance but also combines advantages such as moisture resistance, sound insulation, and durability. It is widely used in various building decoration projects.

If you are looking for a safe, reliable, and long-lasting building material, fire-resistant calcium silicate board is a trustworthy choice.

What is Fire-Resistant Calcium Silicate Board?

Fire-resistant calcium silicate board is an inorganic board made from siliceous materials (such as quartz powder, fly ash, diatomaceous earth) and calcareous materials (such as lime, calcium carbide slag, cement), combined with inorganic mineral fibers or cellulose fibers, and processed through pulping, forming, and autoclave curing.

During the high-temperature, high-pressure saturated steam process, a chemical reaction occurs, forming a stable calcium silicate gel. This unique structure gives the board excellent fire resistance and physical stability.

Two Types of Fire-Resistant Calcium Silicate Board

1. Thermal Insulation Calcium Silicate Board

Also known as microporous calcium silicate, this is a white, rigid thermal insulation material. It features low bulk density, high strength, and low thermal conductivity. It is resistant to high temperatures and corrosion, and can be cut and sawn.

Typically over 30mm thick, with a density ranging from 200 to 1000 kg/m³. It is widely used for thermal insulation, fire protection, and sound insulation of equipment pipes, walls, and roofs in industries such as electric power, metallurgy, petrochemicals, construction, and shipbuilding.

2. Decorative Calcium Silicate Board

This type of board is typically 4–20mm thick, with a common size of 1220×2440mm. It has a smooth surface and uniform color, suitable for direct use.

Calcium silicate ceiling tiles processed from this board offer fire resistance, anti-sagging properties, and a variety of styles, making them ideal for suspended ceiling applications.

Six Key Performance Advantages of Fire-Resistant Calcium Silicate Board

1. Excellent Fire Resistance

Fire-resistant calcium silicate board is rated as a Class A1 non-combustible material. It does not burn or release toxic smoke in the event of a fire. With low thermal conductivity, it is also an ideal insulating material. In case of fire, it effectively prevents flame spread, buying crucial time for evacuation.

2. Good Moisture Resistance

In high-humidity environments such as bathrooms, toilets, and basements, fire-resistant calcium silicate board maintains stable performance. It does not expand or deform, making it particularly suitable for damp areas.

3. High Strength and Impact Resistance

A 6mm thick fire-resistant calcium silicate board has significantly higher strength than a 9.5mm thick standard gypsum board. Walls made from this material are solid, reliable, and resistant to damage, able to withstand everyday impact.

4. Excellent Dimensional Stability

With advanced formulations and strict quality control, the board’s moisture expansion and drying shrinkage are kept within an optimal range. It resists deformation and cracking, ensuring long-term performance.

5. Effective Thermal and Acoustic Insulation

A 10mm thick partition wall made from fire-resistant calcium silicate board offers better thermal insulation than a standard brick wall. It also provides excellent sound insulation, contributing to a quiet and comfortable indoor environment.

6. Long Service Life

Fire-resistant calcium silicate board is stable, resistant to acids and alkalis, and not susceptible to corrosion. It is unaffected by moisture or insect damage. Its strength and hardness increase over time, ensuring an exceptionally long service life.

Installation and Maintenance

Fire-resistant calcium silicate board is installed using a dry construction method. The installation of framing and boards is simple and fast, greatly improving construction efficiency.

It offers excellent workability:

  • Can be cut, drilled, and carved
  • Can be painted or tiled over
  • Can be wallpapered or fabric-covered

It also supports easy renovation and secondary decoration to suit different design needs. Daily maintenance requires only simple cleaning, with no special treatments needed.
